Terms of Use

Last updated: June 2026

These terms apply when you use the DAD app. They're written to be readable, but a few parts matter a lot — especially the disclaimers about guidance, AI content, and crisis support. By using DAD, you agree to them.

Who can use DAD

DAD is for adults — fathers and other parents and carers. You must be 18 or older to use it. You're responsible for the information you record and for how you use the app with your family.

What DAD is — and isn't

DAD is a calm companion that offers ideas, reflections, and prompts to help you spend intentional time with your children. It is a tool to support you, not an authority over you.

Not professional advice.

DAD does not provide medical, psychological, mental-health, legal, or professional parenting advice, and nothing in the app is a diagnosis, treatment, or a substitute for the judgement of a qualified professional. If you have concerns about your child's health, development, behaviour, or wellbeing — or your own — please speak with a doctor, psychologist, or other appropriate professional.

AI-generated content

Some of what DAD shows you — activity plans, devotions, conversation prompts, and other guidance — is generated with the help of AI. It may sometimes be inaccurate, incomplete, generic, or not right for your situation. Treat it as a starting point, use your own judgement, and you remain responsible for any decisions you make or actions you take. Always assess suggested activities for safety and age-appropriateness, and supervise your children appropriately.

In a crisis, DAD is not the help you need.

DAD may point to crisis and support resources, but it is not an emergency or crisis service and cannot provide urgent help. If you, your child, or anyone else is in danger or experiencing a crisis, contact your local emergency number or a crisis helpline immediately. In Australia, call 000, or Lifeline on 13 11 14.

Scripture

Scripture quotations shown in DAD are from the ESV® Bible, provided under licence from Crossway, and are offered for reflection. The relevant attribution is available within the app.

Your content and conduct

The notes, photos, and other content you add are yours, and they stay on your device and in your own iCloud (see our Privacy Policy). You're responsible for that content and for using DAD lawfully and safely — for example, not while driving. Don't use the app to do anything unlawful or harmful.

Availability and changes

DAD is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We may update, change, or discontinue features, and the app depends on your device, your iCloud, and third-party services that we don't control. We may update these terms from time to time; the date above shows when. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Disclaimers and liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, DAD is provided without warranties of any kind, and we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, the app or its content — including AI-generated guidance and activity suggestions.

Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantee, right, or remedy under the Australian Consumer Law or other law that cannot lawfully be excluded. Where our liability cannot be excluded but can be limited, it is limited to the maximum extent the law allows.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of South Australia, Australia, and you agree to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of its courts.
